After we lost Granny and Gramps I started to contemplate all the images they'd collected over the years . I wondered what would become of them as the dyes began to fade and the base materials crumbled.
It occurred to me that I had the means to archive them digitally, so I contacted Aunt Elizabeth and asked her to send them to me. For years I’ve been overwhelmed by the boxes and boxes of photos, negatives, and slides that she sent my way, wondering when I’d ever find the time to go through them all. Finally, I realized that if I just scan a few every day, eventually they will get done.
This website is where those scans will live and be made available to family. I don’t know all the people in these photos or the circumstances under which they were made. I’m hoping we can collaborate to add information and produce an album of memories and history that will serve generations of our families to come.
